Who Am I

I have been creating ever since I could hold a pencil. Fond memories of a Wild Life Club at my primary school encouraged me to look at the small things in life. Lunch times would consist of me hunting for things to draw

My mum always encouraged my creativity growing up. In high school, I was unable to do my Art GCSE because of my low grades in History. Even so, I still had the urge to learn and kept drawing and followed my education at Kidderminster College where I dived into many aspects of art including fine art, graphic design, textiles, sculpture and drawing practices.

I went to study for my BA Honns in Illustration at Herefordshire College of Arts where I picked up more fine-tuned skills in drawing. I specialise in nib and ink illustrations with gouache and also learnt animation.

I fell into a deep depression at university. My artwork suffered a lot. I didn't know where I fit into life or even the purpose of life itself.

I wasn't confident to show my work to anyone but close friends. My whole life at that point was to battle my inner monologue. It was Myself vs Me.

After 5 years I began to regain control of my mind and began making crafts to sell. I made paper roses out of old music sheets. When they started to sell I felt amazing. It was nice that people liked what I did. I started sewing and created a few things to sell.

A few years went by and I wanted to make greeting cards, so I began to draw again. And so was born LUCKY FOX. A second chance at life and to follow my dreams. The persona of Lucky Fox gave me the confidence to show my work to people but to limit the attachment of the possibility of negative comments.

I also worked in a clothing shop where my skills were used to do the chalkboard every 2 weeks. I would spend a few hours doing text and illustrations for them. This began my love for bold poppy colours, patterns, shapes and the colour black! It also lifted my confidence.

I later went to work in a coffee shop, the owner kindly let me use a spare desk in the store room. I finally had my own mini studio where I could work.

I later moved into Pershore Indoor Market for 6 months where I had a chance to actually talk to people including other artists about my work. This was amazing. I sold my first painting! and then another!

The market sadly closed down soon after and I was invited into joining the Pershore Emporium. This consists of others from the market all getting a small section in a shop. From here I have been selling my work and accepting commission work. I have recently been doing a few art stalls at events and I continue to grow myself as an artist.
